Will Selzer, 1994. My van behind him he would slowly break before finally killing it by putting motor oil in the transmission.

On the plus side he turned me onto the largely unknown singer/humorist/madman Stanley Matis, and gave me a tape of a private session of his that I dearly wish I could replace.

Of all my helpers, Will is the one everyone remembers and continues to ask about.

Pixie Garcia in her heydays. Worked for me for several years running shows while I worked others and generally keeping my head from exploding dealing with the details.

In 2001, she had the axle of the van replaced in Florida which then snapped a couple of days later just shy of her destination in Tulsa, Ok. The van flipped end over end and was completely destroyed. Any one else would have be killed. Thankfully she wasn't wearing her seat belt and was thrown clear sparing her from being crushed by the van. She spent many months in a coma and will probably never walk unassisted again. But she continues to live the life she enjoys, and has even found love.

Michael Tivey (1979). His goatee didn't come about until later, but think that is his signature pipe in his hand. The other person is me, and serves as reminder as to why I should never shave completely. If this is the event I think it is I threw up violently all over my suit later that night and then slept it off. In the morning the previous night came back to me soooo slowly over the course of the afternoon.
